An Evening of Poetry with Two Women Authors at the Kybele Hotel in Istanbul


You are cordially invited to an evening of poetry

with Cecilia Woloch and Vassiliki Rapti

in the garden of the Kybele Hotel, Istanbul,

(Yerebatan Caddesi, 23 Sultanahmet 34110)

on June 25, at 8:30 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed and recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts, poet, writer, teacher, and traveler, Cecilia Woloch, will read from her most recent poetry collection Earth (Two Sylvias Press, 2015) and the French translation Tzigane, le poème, Gitan (Scribe-l'Harmattan, 2014) of her second collection, Tsigan: The Gypsy Poem, which has also been adapted for multi-media performances in the U.S. and Europe.

Vassiliki Rapti, Preceptor in Modern Greek at Harvard University and Director of the Advanced Training in Greek Poetry Translation and Performance Workshop at Harvard, will read from her new poetry collection, Transitorium (Somerset Hall Press, 2015) and her poetry collection-partition (with Kostas Rekleitis) IA Songs (Musica Ferrum, 2015). Her reading will be accompanied by music compositions by composer Ivaana Muse.

There willbe a reception following the event. The event is free and open to the public.
